A feeling of great optimism among the exhibitors, the unexpected participation of highly qualified visitors and the high quality of the product innovations presented: this is in short the outcome of Index20, which welcomed in Geneva the nonwoven industry from 19 to 22 October 2021.

This was the first opportunity in 4 years for the community of professionals from across the whole supply chain to meet in person after the Covid long forced break. Exhibitors’ expectations were exceeded, as over 500 exhibitors from 44 countries and almost 10.000 visitors were present and over a thousand further professionals joined Index20 virtual platform.

The Innovation Lab – an area devoted to innovation and research & development – opened its doors for the first time, demonstrating the sheer diversity of applications in which nonwovens are employed and confirming the optimistic vision for the future of the whole industry.

Index20: an increasingly eco-friendly market

A topic shared by all participants was awareness of sustainability issues and the impact of non-biodegradable waste; the combined forces of global plastic legislation and consumer choices with respect to sustainability objectives have pushed the industry to act and find new solutions.

In this context, the presentation of Airgel – biodegradable and compostable high absorption airlaid – confirmed Magic’s commitment to investing in research & development and offering a unique product on the market.
Great interest from visitors for the use of Airgel in various application areas, especially for disposable hygienic-sanitary products.
